Pre-Felt Flower Adorned Red Purse- Part 2 of 2

The finished purse front...

...and shield-like back.

Trimming a piece of coordinating leather...

...folding it into thirds...

...and stitching it together for a strap.

Stitching a pleat into the back of the flap to help it lie better...

...and adding a large sew-on snap for a closure.

The purse back.

The finished bag with strap.

I think it looks rather Victorian!

This purse was an experiment...

...and it was fun, trying out a new bag shape.

The flowers lend a feminine touch to the bag...

...and the deep red color keeps it from looking too 'young'. :)

Sweet purse. The prefelted flowers "melted" perfectly. The ever young purse to carry.

I love how those flowers turned out. What a great technique. I love your experiments.

Yes, if the background had been pink it would have been distinctly babyish. As it is, it looks distinctly grown-up!

Terriea--Thank-you! Working with pre-felt allows for lots of fun stitching techniques during felting!
Andrea--Thanks! It's always fun to try something new, isn't it?!? (You are the queen of doing that!!)
Rachel--I'm glad that it 'reads' adult to you, too!
