Flat Felt and Leather Purses- Part 1 of ?


Adding yarn, beads, felted cords and balls...


                                          ...plus cut out sections of pre-felt...

                                       ...to a layer of sheer, seersucker fabric.


                                     Then covering the fabric and embellishments...


                                               ...with a layer of wool roving...
        

                                                   ...in two different colors...


                                               ...and wetting the project out.


                                   Layering a piece of foam and silk gauze, then wool...

                                                  ...to create an internal pocket.


                                         After flipping the project to the right side...

                     ...adding additional pre-felt cut outs as surface embellishment.


                        The fabric sides are folded in on one-third of the project length...

                                                     ...and felting is begun.


                                       Next time: leather bits are fashioned...

                                                   ...and the bag is completed.
